Mustapha Akrim – Memory, Place, Desire: Contemporary Art of the Maghreb and Maghrebi Diaspora
Sculptor Mustapha Akrim spent March 2014 at Haverford College as a recipient of a Mellon Creative Residency. During the residency, he created two original works of art for the Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery exhibition “Memory, Place, Desire: Contemporary Art of the Maghreb and Maghrebi Diaspora” (October 24 – December 14, 2014) and visited classes at Haverford and Swarthmore Colleges. The Mellon Creative Residencies Program made possible Akrim’s first opportunity to visit and exhibit work in the United States.
